St Ali Family Cafe is one of Melbourne specialty coffee shops. It is located in the heart of the South Melbourne precinct. At first, you may not be able to find the cafe due to it’s hidden from the main road of Clarendon St at South Melbourne.

To be honest, I did not know anything about this cafe before until last Friday we had a Friday lunch with the workmates. I had a spicy lunch, and for some reason I was craved for a cup of coffee. I asked one of the guys where to find a good coffee in South Melbourne. I was not fully familiar with Clarendon St area.

Suprisingly, they all referred me to St Ali Family, but none of them actually remembered the cafe’s whereabout. Luckily we can always rely on the Mr Google Map.

Upon arriving at the front door, the cafe does not look like an ordinary coffee shop. It looks like an auto workshop or an auto garage. But there were lots of patrons enjoying their lunch. When entering the front door, I could smell the delicous aroma of the roasted coffee beans mixed with all sort kind of food that the customers were eating.

There were only two sizes of the coffee. The regular and the large. The large size is actually a regular size coffee at other coffee shops. I couldn’t remember how much the regular price was, but the large one was $5.00 – it’s a bit pricey for a size regular at other coffee shops.

The front cashier is located is the very end, but what really catches my eyes the glass display cabinet next to the cashier. I wasn’t full, I would probably have one of those cakes.
